please allow me to introduce our Master’s study program Oral History – Contemporary History. Our department was founded in 2008, our program in English has been open since 2012. We are a part of Faculty of Humanities, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
It is a 2-year study program in a combined (part-time) form of study. It means you will usually have obligatory classes on Friday afternoons, rest of your schedule is up to you to decide (it depends on which other courses you will choose).
We do not require an entrance exam, however we do require documents supporting your application. Please see Admission Requirements. Deadline for submitting your application and other documents is on July 31, but the sooner you apply and send us all required documents, the sooner you will know whether you have met our requirements and can start planning your stay in Prague or not.
Tuition fee for the program is 2000 € (54 000 CZK)/year. You will also need an official nostrification document to enroll in study in September. For further information please click here.
If you need to pre-calculate your living expenses, you may want to check some of Czech biggest real estate websites to see average rental prices in Prague or you can check possibilities of living in dorms.
We do not provide an assistance with searching funds for your study, but if you find some possible financial source you can apply for, we will gladly help you with your application if you need more details about a practical side of your prospective study.
We are also closely connected to the Oral History Centre at the Institute of Contemporary History, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, therefore we can offer some of our students a certain form of cooperation on our research projects as well.
